White Cross Vets is a friendly and compassionate veterinary practice focused on quality and care.
During the COVID pandemic we are striving to keep all our clinics open,
however from time to time we are having to change opening hours especially on a Saturday at short notice.
Our out of hours provider will always be available if we are unable and their details are given when phoning your clinic.
Please be aware our staff are working extremely hard and very long shifts. We appreciate your cooperation during this difficult time and will not tolerate any abuse to our staff members

The White Cross Fund has been established to give financial assistance to owners unable to afford necessary lifesaving treatment for their pets.
The aim of the fund is to keep people and their pets together. Healthy pets and happy owners is what we’re about.
Our vision is to help as many people and pets as possible, and make a real difference in our local communities.
We organise a range of different fundraising projects and events. You can find out more and download a sponsorship form below.
Here are just some of the fundraising events that we have been involved in recently.
Our Guiseley vet clinic’s sponsored dog walk raised £800 for the White Cross Fund. As well as raising money for this very special cause, there was also a children’s treasure hunt, discounted microchipping and an opportunity to meet your local dog loving vets. Guiseley team members and their family and friends set out from the Swinsty Moor Car Park at Swinsty Reservoir at 10am for the three-mile trek. As you could hear from the barks of appreciation, the dogs loved it!
Our Middlesbrough vet clinic hosted a sponsored sleepover in the dog kennels. Kennel Camp was organised by Coulby Newham veterinary nurse, Lisa, who rounded up both team members and clients for the overnight stay. It was a very interesting night, with some rather sore backs and an early morning wake-up call when the oxygen alarms went off at 4am! Despite this, our fundraisers completed the sleepover, raising a magnificent £1,400.
Other fundraising events we have organised include: dog walks in Derby, Northampton, Wolstanton and Redcar; a Car and Pet Wash in Manchester; and a Coast2Coast cycle for Guiseley and Roundhay.
Visit your local veterinary practice page and join your local practice Facebook group to find out what events are happening in your area.
If you’d like to get involved, please download a sponsorship form and let us know what event you plan to take part in. We can give you advice on fundraising and help you to promote your event.
Thank you so much for your support. It really does make a difference.
The stories below show just some of the pets that have been helped by White Cross Fund.
Vet Angie requested help on behalf of her client whose seven week old Yorkshire Terrier puppy was in need of a blood transfusion. Bonnie was severely anaemic with a massively high white blood cell count. Due to a mistake the breeder had made filling out the Immediate Veterinary Cover (IVC) the owner was unable to claim on the pet insurance and had already incurred sizable bills from another vet. The White Cross Fund approved the transfusion and Angie, Sarah and Jess stayed until 10pm to care for the puppy who owes its life to the dedication of the team.
Blitz received two nasty wounds to his left fore after being hit by a car. His owner met the criteria for a grant so the White Cross Fund was able to contribute 50% towards the cost of his treatment. Blitz had his wound cleaned, stapled and dressed under sedation. His owner was so grateful that, thanks to our supporters’ fundraising efforts, the Fund was able to help.
The White Cross Fund t-shirt has been on its global travels this year. Here are some of the places it has been photographed, how many can you recognise?
Rabbits, parrots, cats, dogs and pets of many different species are helped by the fund. Please let us know if you can support us – either by donating or by running an event.
